In this project we were commissioned by the owners of the house to re-design the front elevation and some areas in their house. The front porch and the balcony on the second floor were both unusable and causing maintenance problem. The covered front porch made the dining room very dark.
We suggested to move the dining room inline with the existing main porch. This brought natural light to the room through the big uncovered window and allowed to build a coatroom between the dining and living rooms desired by our clients. Closing the balcony on the second floor gave us the opportunity to design a comfortable office with big windows.
Creating these additions helped to enhance the existing front elevation – to decorate it with brick, so popular in Garrison Woods and to adorn it with wrought iron decorative balconies, entrance porch and windows details.
